The old bathroom was “very 70s”, in the words of Garrett Hebden from Better Bathrooms & Kitchens, and not in keeping with the look the owners wished to create. However, it was easy to include all the owners’ requests, says Garrett. “They wanted to keep a spa (but not the existing one), wanted double basins and a large shower,” he explains.
The shower area has been concealed behind a newly built wall to provide privacy and allow for more than one user at the same time. It is lit by a glass brick construction that allows natural light to stream through and brighten the blue feature panel. The new wall also provides the backdrop to the custom-made vanity and allows all the plumbing to be concealed inside, giving the room a really sleek finish.
White wall tiles expand the perceived area of the room and give it a very light and airy feel, while Blue Black floor tiles provide excellent contrast and warmth. Charcoal laminate cabinetry on the vanity acts as the stabilising factor that brings the walls and floor together.
