Modern Indulgence Kitchens

Inspired by the tired look of their Jarrah Veneer kitchen and a desire to increase the value of their home, the owners decided a significant renovation was in order. The entire kitchen, including all appliances, was totally overhauled. “Considering the heritage and location of the home, they decided a new kitchen would increase the value of their house,” says designer Garrett Hebden. Along with the potential long term gains the owners were also set to instantly benefit from the renovation. A generously sized stainless steel Ilve oven, Westinghouse refrigerator and Gessi taps are but the tip of the iceberg in this tastefully designed space custom-made to suit a large growing family. An abundance of storage space is a feature of the design, with a large pantry and ample shelving and drawers catering to the needs of the household. A variety of unusually coloured and textured materials provide the kitchen with unique dimensions, creating a truly modern space. The warm tones of the cabinetry and flooring are offset by the stainless steel appliances and cool undertones of the window area – simply stunning! The richness of the Rosewood cabinetry, the light coloured Cashmere CaesarStone benchtops and the two-toned timber flooring accentuates Better Bathrooms & Kitchens’ skill in creating distinctive contemporary spaces. Suspended glass shelves and a glass door cabinet, enhanced by down and task lights, add further interest to the room. The splashback, also made from glass with a Raw Encounter finish, creates sound harmony between the varying materials and emphasises the clean lines of the work space. The elevated wall at the rear of the double-bowl sink provides privacy from the sitting room and allows the kitchen to retain an air of separation despite the open plan layout of the home. Designed to hide the prime serving and preparation area, it is highly functional yet in keeping with the contemporary feel of the kitchen.
