Who knew green living could look this good?
This luxurious ensuite has everything the owners could ever desire. Delve under the surface and visitors will soon realise that the bathroom is about more than just good looks.
Garrett Hebden and the Better Bathrooms & Kitchens team have successfully designed a visual masterpiece that also boasts a pretty impressive green status. “With the ongoing drought, the owners wanted their tank water supply to be connected to the toilet and washing machine,” Garrett explains, adding “And when they have the occasional bath the grey water is then distributed throughout their garden.”
Housed in a Georgian-style residence, the previous ensuite was never completed, so the owners seized the opportunity to make the new bathroom something truly special. Utilising the abundance of space, Garrett crafted a design that features the same straight, clean lines that are evident in the rest of the home.
An indulgent sunken bathtub featuring beautifully designed tiled rock steps that match a stunning feature wall provides an eye-catching focal point. A spacious double shower and wallhung vanity — with room for two — enhances the ensuite’s generous proportions and are practical additions for busy mornings.
If guests don’t already feel like they’ve checked into a six-star resort, they certainly will once they spot the television recessed into one of the walls. There is nothing better than relaxing in an overflowing bubble bath and sipping champagne while watching your favourite nightly program — ahhhh, heaven!
During winter, cosy warmth is provided by the hydronic heating and a heated towel rail. All this enjoyment comes in the comfort of the owners’ home with environmental credentials to boot — who could ask for anything better than that?
