It’s all black and white in this heritage-style bathroom.
Reminiscent of days gone by, this bathroom has all the appeal and grandeur of a stately Victorian home. The owners asked Garrett Hebden from Better Bathrooms & Kitchens to create a period-themed bathroom to mould their thoughts into the renovation and complement their surrounding estate.
With many original features intact, including the toilet suite’s cast-iron cistern and chain, it was important for Better Bathrooms & Kitchens’ designer Garrett Hebden to provide the room with authentic finishes to blend with the existing features.
The standout piece is undoubtedly the magnificent colonial claw-foot bathtub with chrome lion’s feet. The matching custom-built vanity also enhances the bathroom’s distinct period feel. Featuring a Carrara marble-honed benchtop and a matching wall cabinet and mirror, the vanity is right at home in its grand setting.
Every detail, down to the vanity’s sparkling crystal knobs and other ornate accents, takes this space back to the Victorian era. The black and white chequered marble floor tiling, imported direct from England, adds interest to the space and contributes to the warm, cosy atmosphere apparent in many heritage homes.
Along with capturing the charm of a time past, Garrett has ensured the bathroom is not without the all-important creature comforts. The exposed walk-in shower is incredibly spacious and the restored toilet suite, complete with a gorgeous solid jarrah seat, really can be likened to a royal throne!
Whether you are soaking in the deep bathtub or simply passing by, this spectacularly designed bathroom will take you on a nostalgic journey back in time.
